Polarization-Maintaining components (PM components) are designed to control and preserve the polarization state of light propagating through them. They are essential in maintaining the polarization orientation of the light. Generally, Polarization-Maintaining components are referring to Polarization-Maintaining Splitters/Couplers, Polarization-Maintaining Isolators, Polarization-Maintaining Filters, Polarization Controllers, Polarization-Maintaining Collimators, and Polarization-Maintaining Patch Cords.
